5) Monster Hunter: World (PC) – Metacritic Score: 88

Monster Hunter: World, Shadow of the Colossus

Monster Hunter: World is one of the biggest selling and highest rated games of 2018 so far, having come to consoles back in January, but it finally released on PC earlier in the month, and it’s still a great experience. Just as in the previous Monster Hunter games, World sees you take on the role of a hunter who travels to a new continent to take on threatening monsters.

With the story, gameplay, and tutorials improving dramatically over previous entries, Monster Hunter: World is one of the most accessible entries in the series. Most of the deep upgrade and gear systems remain and will confuse some players, but it’s compelling enough for you to want to understand everything that is in front of you. You get a real sense of achievement from taking down the tougher monsters alongside your friends and the upgrade system is rewarding.
