How to Take Photos & Selfies in Yakuza Kiwami 2

Yakuza Kiwami 2 may be a remake of the 2006’s Yakuza 2, but that doesn’t mean the game isn’t visually impressive. In fact, thanks to the new Dragon engine that we saw in action in Yakuza 6, the combat feels more fluid than ever, and the city of Kamurocho and its cast of eccentric characters look fantastic. Who could blame you  —essentially a tourist in this virtual world— for wanting to take a break from all the criminal activity to soak up your surroundings? Here’s how to take photos and selfies in Yakuza Kiwami 2.

Just as we’ve seen in other games, Yakuza Kiwami 2 assigns its ‘photo mode’ so to speak to the d-pad on your PS4 controller. What you’ll need to do is press up on the D-pad to bring up the camera menu. Once you’ve got the camera menu open, all you’ll need to do is angle the camera in the way you want and then simply press X to take photos of whatever you’re pointing it at.

Sometimes, though, a landscape shot just won’t cut it in the modern world, and so Kiryu may want to get down with the kids and take some selfies. In order to do that in Yakuza Kiwami 2, you’ll need to press Triangle once you’re in the camera mode and this will see him turn the camera around. Now you can snap selfies just as the same way you would any photos in the standard camera mode of Yakuza Kiwami 2.

As much fun as it is to snap plenty of photos about the many different districts of Kamurocho, just remember that Kiryu’s got a job to be doin’. We know, we know, it’s incredibly easy to get distracted!

That’s all you need to know to take photos and selfies in Yakuza Kiwami 2. For more tips, tricks, and information on the game, be sure to search for Twinfinite.
