How Long Is the Majima Saga in Yakuza Kiwami 2
Yakuza 6: The Song of Life may have been the end of Kazuma Kiryu’s story, but the Dragon of Dojima is back for another round in Yakuza Kiwami 2. The game completely remakes the original Yakuza 2, keeping the same core story and cutscene direction, while adding in a host of new content. Of course, Yakuza Kiwami 2 is built on the Dragon Engine first used in Yakuza 6, meaning it sports the same style and combat system, among other things. Even if the main story is the same, there’s a host of new content added in like the Majima Construction Clan Creator and a brand new story section known as the Majima Saga.
The Majima Saga has you controlling none other than Goro Majima himself, the Mad Dog of Shimano. It’s actually separate from the main game, and you’ll unlock it as you progress through the story of Yakuza Kiwami 2. There are three chapters to the Majima Saga that you’ll unlock sequentially as you go. It’s a relatively short add-on that should take you anywhere from 2-4 hours depending on how quickly you play.
Each chapter does give you a bit of story as Majima, and you can run around and play all the minigames in the city as well. There aren’t any substories or special activities like when you play as Kiryu, however, there will be street bosses that appear for you to take down as well. There’s no experience or anything in the Majima Saga, but any money you earn can be transferred over to Kiryu. It’s nice to get a little more context for Majima’s story, but you’re better off just playing through the story and then running around the city as Kiryu, as it’ll reward you with experience for everything you do.
