Desperados III

The phrase, “This town ain’t big enough for the two of us”, may come to mind when thinking about another western game in a post Red Dead Redemption world. But because Desperados III is a real-time strategy game, the genres are different enough to warrant both titles.

From developer Mimimi Productions, Desperados III will have players sneaking into areas to assassinate targets, mingle with townsfolk, and completing objectives, all from an isometric point of view, like Diablo. What’s really interesting is how Desperados III handles the stealth mechanic. In areas you aren’t supposed to be in, your character will have to hide behind objects and use items to distract the guards. But because of the viewpoint, you can see a massive amount of the map, giving you plenty of room to come up with a strategy – and you’re encouraged to experiment with lots of different strategies to complete tasks. It sounds really cool!

Desperados III is set for release in 2019 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. No Switch version has been announced, sadly.
