How to Find Challenge Rooms in Dead Cells
While the combat and traversal are why you start playing Dead Cells and why you’ll struggle to put it down, there are plenty of hidden areas and secrets to make every single run feel different and engaging. Certain areas can only be reached once you get your hands on particular runes, and some enemies and weapons have a small chance of appearing in each area. Also, there are some doors and items scattered around the maps that you can only use after you’ve reached a certain point in the game. Then there are challenge rooms in Dead Cells, and here’s everything you need to know about what they are and how you find them.
Challenge rooms were tinkered with while Dead Cells was still in early access, so they’re now much harder to come across. You’ll probably come across them very rarely, but you’ll need to first find a rune just as you would for those that permanently unlock new areas and skills, when enemies drop them. Once you’ve found the rune and interacted with it, a portal should open up nearby. The challenges score you on how quickly you can take out the enemies in a pre-determined area. They’ll be quite tough, and used to require you to do it in a particular time, or without being hit once. Since they’re quite rare and the full version of Dead Cells hasn’t been out long, not that much is known about the full release version of challenge rooms, but once we get more specifics on how to beat them and what rewards they grant, we will be sure to update you here.
