Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker is on the cusp of its release date, and Bandai Namco has released a new trailer that displays the many various roles players must master in order to snatch a victory in the game’s Combat Battle mode.
Shinobi Striker is all about teamwork and how each member is able to utilize his character’s unique combat type and various skills. As opposed to the objective-based modes that have been previously advertised, Combat Battle simply requires that one team of Shinobi defeat the other. Though, this S-Class mission will be one something far more difficult than past Naruto titles.
The trailer shows that players will be able to take control of three types of characters: Attack and Ranged Types to deal damage and Heal Types to recover any lost HP. Many different strategies of play are also on display within the trailer such as never attacking alone, much like other mutliplayer games, and keeping the many different attributes and weaknesses of character types in mind while battling. Healers should be protected so that they can heal and look after their teammates, and the opposing healer should be the first to be taken out.
The trailer goes on to show off various forms of Ultimate Ninjutsu, something very familiar to the Naruto fighters, and Secret Technique Ninjutsu that do critical damage. Players can also take advantage of hidden scrolls to do extra damage and heal themselves without the need of a Healer.
Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Strikers storms onto PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on Aug. 31.
