How to Beat the Reflection Room in Mario Tennis Aces
If you’re here, it’s probably because you’re struggling with the reflection room in Mario Tennis Aces. This is a confusing puzzle-like challenge where you’ll be by yourself in a room with a mirror in the boo mansion, and are left to figure out how to get out. Sure, it’s a classic Mario scenario, but if you don’t know what to do, it can be very frustrating as time ticks away and you’re just smashing a ball against a mirror over and over. Here’s what you need to do to beat the reflection room in Mario Tennis Aces so you can continue on your quest to be the best.
In the first phase of Mario Tennis Aces’ reflection room, you’ll see blue, I don’t even know what you would call them, orbs I guess. Smack a ball into one, if you hear an affirmative ding, you know that you have the right one, anything else will give you a not so affirmative noise. If you hit any of the orbs and have enough energy, you’ll be able to zone shot. Zone shot the ball into the orb that you heard the ding. Doing so will eliminate all the orbs and move you to the next part with even more orbs. If you’re not sure which is the right one, you can just zone shot one by one until you get it, but obviously knowing exactly where it is will move you along faster.
The second phase of the reflection room in Mario Tennis Aces sees a clock appear in the middle and a number of gears floating around it. You’re going to ignore the clock and only hit the gears. The first time around is easy, just hit one, start a zone shot, and then hit both of them with the zone shot to move on. After that, it gets a little trickier. You’ll notice that the hour hand on the clock moves slowly, and the minutes are moving very quickly. The gears are following that pattern, the gears that are moving slower you can just hit normally with the zone shot, however, the ones that are moving quickly, following the minute hand pattern, will have moved by the time the ball reaches it if you’re just trying to hit it directly. Instead, you need to watch the pattern of the ones moving quickly and hit the ball a little bit ahead, essentially aiming where it’s going to be, not where it is while you’re zone shotting.
Once you know that, it becomes quite easy. Zone shot all of the gears down all three times, and you will have finally beat the reflection room.
