How to Play Online With Friends in Mario Tennis Aces
Mario Tennis Aces features a few different modes you can jump into, including the story-based Adventure Mode, Tournament, and Free Play, where you can play with other players over the internet, or team up with your friends. Here’s what you need to know about playing with your mates in Mario Tennis Aces.
From the game’s main menu, select the Free Play option, choose Online Play, and then choose either the single or split-screen options. From here, you’ll be able to set the match parameters, such as the courts you want to play on, the AI difficulty, and whether you want to go singles or doubles. From the lobby, you should also see the option to invite friends in the lower half of the screen. However, at the time of writing, it would appear that the friends list is currently not showing up in the lobby, making it impossible to actually invite people to your Mario Tennis Aces lobby and play together. The online mode itself seems to work fine, and you can still play with random players. You just can’t match up with your friends at the moment.
Edit: As it turns out, the main way to join up with friends is to open a room yourself in the lobby, and people on your friends list will be able to join your room from there. In short, have someone be the host to open a room, and everyone else will be able to join in.
