Can You Launch the Rocket in Fortnite?

Recommended Videos

When Season 4 began in Fortnite Battle Royale, players came across strange changes to the map, some of which people thought might be linked to an event that would occur as the season progressed. One of those things was the rocket that mysteriously appeared in a secret Omega lair near Snobby Shores. You may be wondering now whether you can launch that rocket, and what it might do in Fortnite.

The short answer is: you can’t launch the rocket in Fortnite right now, but you might be able to soon. There was a countdown, accompanied by an image of a rocket, on just the Nintendo Switch version, that ended yesterday, June 19, but nothing happened. Now, after the install of version 4.4, there’s a countdown right by the rocket itself in some versions which is due to end on Saturday, June 23. We don’t know exactly what it is counting down to, but the suggestion is that you will then be able to launch the hidden rocket. As soon as you’re able to launch the rocket, we’ll be sure to update you.

That’s all you need to know about if you can launch the rocket in Fortnite Battle Royale. For more on the game, check out our wiki guide.
