How to Find Home in Astroneer
While exploring planets in Astroneer, it’s easy to lose track of where you are, and where you’ve been going, and eventually you might actually get completely lost. It’s quite common actually and it’s probably why you are here to begin with. You don’t want to have to die and respawn, but finding your home base can be difficult if you get completely lost while playing Astroneer.
However, this immersion and “feature” of getting lost is by design, it’s up to you to carefully track where you’re going and have a plan for to find your way back home if you get lost. It’s always best to pay close attention to what direction your heading in, so you know how to get back home if you get side tracked. Use your compass, beacons, and natural landmarks to keep you grounded.
If you ignored all of those things above and are completely lost while playing Astroneer, there are a couple of things you can do to find your home base. Some tips we’ve seen from around the community include trying to find a high mountain, and spotting your base from that vantage point.
If you’re looking for your starting base on a planet, it’s always going to be located around the equator, so try a pattern of consistent and complete loops to see if you can spot it, or be really fancy, and use the night sky to help you. It’s always aligned with the equator on a planet which is where your starting base will be.
