Is State of Decay 2 Xbox One X Enhanced?
The anticipated sequel to one of last generation’s unexpected hits, State of Decay, has arrived, bringing more of the zombie survival gameplay to the Xbox One and PC. Naturally, it’s a much more ambitious package this time around with respect to scale and graphical fidelity, and it looks very good, indeed, running on even the Xbox family’s vanilla hardware. But for those who have upgraded to the Xbox One X, they’ll be glad to know that State of Decay 2 is an Xbox One X Enhanced title that runs a sharper image quality and a more stable frame rate.
Microsoft’s own website merely lists the game as 4K, HDR Enhanced, but further details were revealed during an interview in which Jeff Strain stated:
“There are significant visual enhancements we’re able to deliver thanks to the Xbox One X… Extra memory and greater processing power gives us a more stable frame rate and lets us do more with higher resolution textures.”
Unfortunately, there’s only the one graphical configuration mode, unlike other Xbox One X Enhanced titles that have offered multiple performance options depending on whether users were more interested in fidelity or frame rate performance.
