State of Decay 2: Valley vs Plateau vs Foothills – Which Is Best?

Valley vs Plateau vs Foothills – Which Is the Best Place to Start in State of Decay 2?

One of the very first things you’ll have to do in State of Decay 2 is choose where you want your survivors to set up. You’ll have three different options to choose from – the Valley, Plateau, or the Foothills. The description for each of these doesn’t do a whole lot to tell you whether there are pros or cons to each of these locations, or if there’s a change in difficulty level. Well, let’s clear that up for you.

The Valley, Plateau, and Foothills in State of Decay 2 are simply different maps for you to check out. From our own experience, none is more or less challenging than the others, and all that really changes is the shape of the map and the buildings you’ll find dotted about. If you’re worried about missing out on a secret hidden away in the Valley, Plateau, or Foothills in State of Decay 2, fear not, as you’ll always be able to check them out with a new community once you’ve finished your current playthrough (or at any time by selecting Manage Communities from the main menu).

That’s about everything you need to know about whether the Valley, Plateau, or Foothills is better than its counterparts in State of Decay 2. For more on the game, be sure to check out our ever-expanding wiki.
