Overwatch League’s London Spitfire Set to Release Four Players From Their Roster

london spitfire, overwatch league

After winning the Stage 1 playoffs in the Overwatch League, the London Spitfire have been languishing a little. The team got knocked out by the Fusion in the Stage 2 playoffs, and didn’t even make the cut in Stage 3. And their performance so far in Stage 4? Well, they’ve lost both of their matches in the first week.

Clearly, the team’s management and coaches feel that something needs to change, and they’ve announced that four of their players will be designated as “inactive,” effective immediately. The four players are:

  • Hyeon-woo “HaGoPeun” Jo
  • Jang-hyeon “TiZi” Hwang
  • Seung-hyun “WooHyaL” Seong
  • Dong-eun “Hooreg” Lee

All four players will be remaining with the London Spitfire until their contracts end, and the team has also stated that they will help them in finding new opportunities with other Overwatch League organizations in the meantime.

It’s very likely that the team has made this decision so that they’ll be better able to focus on the players who are in the active lineup, and this might make it easier to build synergy and coordination between players. The London Spitfire are still in the running for the season playoffs, but they’ll definitely need to step it up if they want to win the whole thing.
