Is Yakuza 6 Coming to Xbox One?

Recommended Videos

April finally brings the arrival of Yakuza 6: Song of Life to the PS4. The latest entry in the series improves upon the standard Yakuza formula thanks to the new Dragon Engine, which provides a more seamless experience with even prettier visuals. Yet while we know that Yakuza 6 will arrive on PS4 on April 17, some Xbox One owners may be wondering if they’ll get the chance to enjoy the last chapter of Kiryu’s story.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like Yakuza 6 will be making its way to the Xbox One any time soon. Sega’s series has been exclusive to the PlayStation consoles for quite some time now, with the occasional spin-off making its way to mobile or portable devices (oh, and a Wii U title that was Japan only).

While no official statement has been provided by Sega regarding why Yakuza 6 isn’t coming to Xbox One, chances are it has something to do with the system’s poor sales performance in Japan and its tendency to focus on Western titles, rather than the PS4 which has become the home for many games developed in Japan.

If Yakuza 6 does get announced for the Xbox One, we’ll be sure to update this post and let you know. For now, though, we’ll just have to keep on hoping.
