Microsoft has announced the next four titles available for Xbox Live Gold members to download and play for free in May as part of the Games With Gold program. Xbox players can get their hands on four titles this month, with two Xbox One games and two Xbox 360 games making up the line-up. All titles are free for those with an Xbox Games With Gold subscription.
Super Mega Baseball 2 will make its debut on Xbox One on May 1, bringing its wacky mix of arcade gameplay and classic baseball simulation with it. The game allows players to build their dream-team and challenge opponents in dynamic baseball games both online and off. Cross-play is available between Xbox One and PC, however is not possible for those looking to play with friends on different consoles.
Next up is Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, available from May 16. It’s a game that is both the climactic finale to the long-running stealth-action series, and an amazing game all in its own right. The Phantom Pain takes the stealth mechanics which have been refined over decades of gaming, and places them into an open-world setting. Players once again fill the combat boots of Naked Snake, as he races to chase down a deadly virus, a skull-headed villain, and seeks revenge on those who have wronged him. All rendered in the technical marvel that is the FOX Engine, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is a game that should not be missed. You’ll be able to pick up the game until June 15
On the Xbox 360 side of things we have the SEGA Vintage Streets of Rage Collection, available from May 1. The collection takes the three original Streets of Rage games which previously released back on the SEGA Genesis, and updates them for modern audiences with HD graphics. Earn all new achievements, take on challenging new game trials, compete with others players across Xbox Live Leaderboards, and clean up the streets with a friend in two player local and online co-op.
Platinum Games’ third-person action shooter Vanquish is also available for Xbox 360 players, starting May 16. The game mixes the stylish gameplay the studio is known for with modern shooter mechanics, with the ability to slide and shoot around each of the game’s levels. As always, all Xbox 360 titles offered through Games With Gold are backward-compatible and can be played on the Xbox One.
Just a quick reminder that you are still able to download last month’s offerings, which include Assassin’s Creed Origins and Cars 2.
