If you enjoyed Platinum Games’ cult hit The Wonderful 101 when it first released on Wii U, you may be excited to hear that the studio is interested in bringing it to the Nintendo Switch, where it would fit in quite nicely. Both Hideki Kamiya and Atsushi Inaba from Platinum Games discussed their desire to bring the game to the modern console during the Reboot Develop 2018 talk in Croatia.
After asking the audience how many folks there had played The Wonderful 101, Kamiya playfully suggested a little game for the audience to take part in.
“We’re going to knock the audience participation up a bit,” Kamiya said through his translator during the presentation. “They’re still trying to negotiate with Nintendo whether a possible Wonderful 101 Switch release could happen but it always helps when the people in the audience at Reboot clap if they’d actually buy a Switch version of Wonderful 101. So anybody who would buy that, please clap!” Cue an entire room full of clapping fans.
This obviously doesn’t mean anything concrete, but it is great news nevertheless for anyone who’s been looking forward to a new version of the game on Nintendo’s latest console. Here’s to hoping something comes of this talk!
