Overwatch League Stage 3 Week 1
Stage 2 is officially behind us, and now we have the third stage of the Overwatch League to look forward to. As was the case with the beginning of Stage 2, lots of teams are undergoing changes with player trades and new signings in an attempt to move up in the standings. Most notably, the Shanghai Dragons have permanently ditched DPS player Undead, and their reinforcements are here in the form of Geguri, Ado, Fearless, and Sky.
For the first week of Stage 3, the Dragons will be matching up against the Dallas Fuel, who have been going through some team troubles of their own and have free-falled down the standings, and in our weekly power rankings. There are rumors of Effect getting transferred, Seagull asking for a transfer, and it looks like their main and off-tank roles are in flux yet again. If the Dragons are going to claim their first win of the season, this is the time to do it.
The London Spitfire also has a bit of a tough week to kick off Stage 3, as they’ll be going up against the New York Excelsior and Houston Outlaws. Still, this is their opportunity to seize first place in the standings once again in an emphatic way. They’ve bested Excelsior twice already, and were able to beat the Outlaws during the Stage 1 playoffs, but suffered a loss to them during a regular Stage 2 match. The Spitfire also got knocked out at third place during the Stage 2 playoffs, so they’ll be looking to bounce back with a victory this week.
