Celebrated Nintendo Switch RPG, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, has just released its latest patch, version 1.3.0. This update addresses the usual fixes to niggling issues, but most will find the additional features to be much more interesting.
The major inclusion is the Advanced New Game, an entirely new option available on the title screen to those who cleared the main game. The mode maintains some data from a previous save file, such as driver levels, acquired items, gold and playtime, and adds many seemingly minor details into the mix, such as Blades from Toma being able to join your party, and resetting previously completed Merc Missions.
Also, the update adds an Easy Mode for new and inexperienced Xenoblade players who would prefer to just enjoy the immersive title, and makes battles more manageable. Other adjustments in the patch include changes made to make the Blade system more accessible for players. These include the addition of a “simple mode” option, allowing players to skip the lottery animation during the process of Bonding with Blades, and the ability to lock and sort various Blades.
The mini map has been boosted as well, and the 4th round of items available from the Expansion Pass have at last been added.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 was released on December 1 2017, and is available exclusively for Nintendo Switch.
