Controllers can be pretty expensive, and when you have to pay for one at the same time as shelling out hundreds of dollars for a brand new console, it can be a big sting to the wallet. If this is hampering your decision to pick up an Xbox One X, then good news: Microsoft are offering a free Xbox One controller with purchases of the system from certain online retailers.
A tweet by the official Xbox Twitter account links to the Xbox website where details of the promotion are given. According to the website, the offer will only be running temporarily, finishing on March 17, and will only be available in the United States.
It also states that the free controller is a standard black one, and this is true when ordering the console from the Microsoft Store, as well as Best Buy. However, if you order the console from Gamestop, you are given the option to choose between either a black or a white controller. Gamestop’s website also states that the offer will be ending on March 17. These three stores all have the console priced at $499.99.
