Visual novel fans are in for a treat. Spike Chunsoft announced today that two games in 5pb.’s Science Adventure visual novel series will be heading to the West: Steins;Gate Elite, and Robotics;Notes.
Steins;Gate Elite is a remaster of the original Steins;Gate that released in the West in 2015 for PS3 and PS Vita. Following Chaos;Head, it is the second entry in the Science Adventure series. The story follows a group of students as they experiment with the possibilities of time travel. Spike Chunsoft describe Steins;Gate Elite as the “ultimate version” of the story, and that it “features newly animated sequences for certain endings.” As well as the new animated sequences, it will also include animated sequences from the Steins;Gate anime adaptation. The game will launch in 2018 for Switch, PS4, and PC. The PS Vita saw a release of the game in Japan, but it appears that version will not be coming overseas. A new trailer for the game has also been released.
Spike Chunsoft told Siliconera at Game Developers Conference 2018 that Robotics;Notes will also be seeing a release in the West. Originally released in 2012 for the PS3 and Xbox 360 in Japan, and later ported to PS Vita, this will be the first time that the game will be available outside of Japan. It is the third entry in the Science Adventure series. Set in 2019, it is about a school kid who decides he wants to build a robot. Spike Chunsoft didn’t reveal much information, besides the fact that the game is being localized. What platforms it will be releasing for are currently unknown.
