Can You Connect PS4 Controller to iPhone?
Gaming on an iPhone is a great way to kill a little bit of time, whether you’re waiting for a train, waiting in a queue, or waiting for a number two, but there are some iPhone games that can require a bit more of your time to really get into them. These types of games, be they racing games, first-person shooters, or action games, sometimes don’t play too well with the touchscreen interface that iPhone gaming is known for. In these instances, it would be better to play with a real controller, and seeing that the PlayStation 4 is this generation’s best-selling console, there’s bound to be a PS4 controller or two lying around quite a few peoples’ houses. So the question is: is it possible to connect your PS4’s DualShock 4 controller to an iPhone?
Unfortunately, this cannot be done through any official means. Although both the iPhone and the PS4 controller support Bluetooth functionality, it isn’t possible to connect the two to one another. The only option you have is to jailbreak your iPhone in order to hook up your controller via unofficial means.
Hopefully, Apple releases a firmware update in the future that will allow connection to a PS4 controller out of the box. If this does end up happening, we’ll be sure to update this post to let you know.
