How to Rob Home Runs in MLB The Show 18

Recommended Videos

The home run is one of the most exciting plays in all of baseball. In MLB The Show 18, you can take home run hitting to the next level now that you can create your own batting stance, upload your own walk up music, and of course, pick your own home run celebration complete with fist pumps and bat tosses.

That said, perhaps the only thing more exciting than a home run is ROBBING a home run. There are few things more satisfying, than allowing someone to have a few seconds of jubilation thinking they just blasted a ball out of the park, only to rip that joy from them by climbing up a wall and pulling a ball back from the oblivion and back into the field. If you’re here, you’re obviously wondering how you can rob home runs for your self in MLB The Show 18. Here’s how you do it.

First when you’re backing up as an outfielder, look for the yellow and red indicator by the wall. This shows up only when robbing a home run is possible/necessary. If the indicator doesn’t pop up, that means the ball is too low to need to have to preform the robbing animation. Try to time your run so that your arriving to it just as the indicator turns red and you’re hitting R1 right at that moment. If you time it out correctly your outfielder should have a good chance of robbing the home run and getting the out. If you do it too early or too late, you’ll just jump up and bounce back down. It’s possible that the ball might not go out anyway if it’s a short laser type of hit. So if you definitely can’t reach the indicator and the ball looks very low, hang back just in case it doesn’t clear the wall to field it off the wall. This is especially true in places like Fenway Park with the green monster.
