Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night’s English Cast Features the Likes of David Hayter and Fred Tatasciore

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night was one of the largest Kickstarter projects of 2015. It promised to be the spiritual successor to the legendary Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and to feature the voices of Robbie Belgrade (Alucard from Symphony of the Night) and David Hayter (Solid Snake from Metal Gear Solid). Now at long last, we finally know who will join these actors in bringing Bloodstained to life.

Earlier today, Koji Igarashi updated the Bloodstained Kickstarter page with the long-awaited reveal of the English voice cast. Each of the main and side characters was featured in the article: first and foremost the protagonist Miriam, her rival Zangetsu, and the main antagonist Gebel. They will be voiced by Erica Lindbeck (Magilou from Tales of Berseria and Futaba Sakura from Persona 5), David Hayter, and Ray Chase (Noctis from Final Fantasy XV and Artorius Collbrande from Tales of Berseria), respectively.

The announcement also included quite a few other famous voice actors. Even if you do not not recognize their names, you will likely recognize their roles. Some of the more notable names attached to Bloodstained are Fred Tatasciore (Soldier 76 from Overwatch and Damon Baird from Gears of War) and Kari Wahlgren (Haruko Haruhara from FLCL and Jeane from No More Heroes).

While the list had which actor will voice which main character, it also revealed that the actors were also asked to portray more than one character. This is the beauty of voice actors: they are so skilled at altering their voices, they can fill more than one roll. In fact, many of the actors in the update feature “additional voices” on their IMDB pages, denoting roles where they voiced enemies or background characters. But, we will just have to wait until Bloodstained is released to learn who voices what.

Igarashi wasn’t just content to reveal the English voice cast, though. The update also included a video that not only provided insight into their roles but also provided a small sample of what they will sound like in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. And it’s the first of three planned videos, so gamers should look forward to the next two in the near future.
