We’ve been waiting for Owlboy to release for a long time, but now that it has, it could be perfect for the younger gamer. It is an old-school platformer, with a stunning pixel-art style, that oozes with charm. You explore the skies, taking on the dungeons and fighting a few enemies. Some of the dungeons and bosses may prove a little tough for those on the younger side, but the general gameplay is easy to grasp. The game’s narrative is also charming and engaging, and sees you play as Otus, who sets out on a journey to save his village after it is attacked by a band of pirates. Owlboy isn’t particularly combat heavy, focusing on the world and the story, so it could be the perfect indie game for anyone’s PlayStation 4, not just young gamers.
