Attack on Titan 2: How to Play as a Titan

How to Play as a Titan in Attack on Titan 2

Recommended Videos

Though playing as a member of the Survey Corps is a blast in Attack on Titan 2, taking on the role as one of the game’s monstrous beings is just as fun. The game offers players the chance to assume the roles of either Eren, the Female Titan, the Armored Titan, the Colossal Titan, or the Mystery Titan throughout the events of the main campaign mode.

Fans should rest assured knowing they won’t have to wait as long as they did during the first game in order to take on the role of one of the aforementioned Titans. Each will become available intermittently as the story unfolds, with Eren eligible to be controlled early on. Unfortunately, the Colossal and Armored Titans are only unlocked after completing the latter half of the game’s five chapters. Keep in mind that only select missions allow for transformations to take place.

In order to transform into a Titan, you’ll have to charge your Decisive Battle Signal up to a certain point by slaying regular Titans. Once you do so, you’ll be able to trigger a cutscene to summon one of the game’s gigantic beings.

Now that you’re everything you ever wanted to be, you need to know how to control yourself. Move with the left thumbstick and use X or A to dash or hold to jump. The square or X button lets your character attack with punches, while the triangle or Y button does a grab attack. When your lower yellow meter is full (it’s located where your blade meter normally is) you can press the circle or B button to use a powerful special attack.

You can end your transformation early by pressing R2 or RT. If you’re looking for some means to extend your time as a fighting skyscraper, try killing as many Titans as you can. You can also try completing side missions while in this form to refill your meter completely.
