INDIES
PS PLUS FREE GAMES FOR APRIL 2018
After the larger titles, a couple indies usually round out the PS Plus list every month. For April 2018 we believe one such indie will be Axiom Verge from Thomas Happ Games.
The action/adventure platformer follows a scientist named Trace who wakes up in an alien new world, and must explore and fight numerous enemies to figure out what is going on. It first released on PS4 back in 2015, currently has a 10/10 score on Steam, and most recently released on the Nintendo Switch in October 2017.
Since Axiom Verge is such a popular indie and has released on numerous platforms including Switch, Sony would be more likely to include it for free on PS Plus since players would be more enticed to purchase it on the newer platform anyways. As well, Axiom Verge is a cross-play title also available on PS Vita, and Sony had been known to often include those on PS Plus to kill two birds with one stone.
Another likely indie is Inside from popular indie developer Playdead. Also known for their first successful title Limbo, Inside has both familiar gameplay and themes with dark imagery and sidescrolling exploration of sinister and eerie worlds.
Along with being a larger and more well-known indie that would please subscribers, Inside is likely to be released as Limbo has already been included on PS Plus as well back in August 2015. If it’s not next month, then expect to see Inside on Sony’s PS Plus line-up sometime in the near future.
VR GAME
PS PLUS FREE GAMES FOR APRIL 2018
Finally, we are going to predict what possible PSVR game will come to PS Plus next month. While a VR game does not make the list every month, it’s been since December 2017 that we have gotten one so April 2018 is due for a little PSVR love.
For this inclusion, we believe Job Simulator would be an ideal choice for PS Plus April 2018 due to its simple gameplay that can introduce new players to VR very easily. It’s a great VR staple to have in your library because it can introduce VR gameplay with very easy and menial tasks so even your friends who has never worn a headset in their whole life can pick it up and have some fun without getting too frustrated.
Job Simulator is also available on the rival VR platforms HTC Vive and Oculus Rift, so it wouldn’t been too much of a loss to offer it for free one month to show those who did opt for Sony’s platform some love.
Make sure to check back in the next few weeks when the true list of PS Plus games for April 2018 is reveled.
