The Xbox One’s backwards compatibility list is ever-growing, and there’s plenty of older games that you can now play on the system if you so choose. Today, even more have been added in the form of Vanquish, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, and Brave. Vanquish is the obvious win here, especially if you’re a fan of Platinum Games at all, and you very well should be.
The cult classic Vanquish combines mech combat with the same frenetic action displayed in Bayonetta, and there’s a lot to enjoy about slashing through your enemies with the greatest of ease. Imagine if someone stuck Bayonetta in a Gundam and let her loose on her enemies. You might have something of an approximation of Vanquish then.
Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light is an older twin-stick platform where you explore old ruins, kill off the creatures that inhabit them, and work to recover treasure as you do what Lara does best: raid tombs.
Finally, Brave is based on the Disney movie of the same name, following young Merida in Pixar’s first female-lead animated movie. It’s great for the family if you’re looking for something to get the kids involved with, and there’s a decent amount of gameplay here to take part in.
If you’ve got these games in your library or have them laying around collecting dust, you can bust them out now and play them again on your Xbox One. Time to rejoice!
