How to Turn Off Game DVR on Xbox One

Recommended Videos

The Xbox One’s DVR is great if you love to know that your greatest moments can be saved in just a few quick button presses, or sometimes automatically thanks to the wonders of technology. Just because you can have it turned on, however, doesn’t mean you should. If you’re more concerned about keeping your hard drive nice and empty, all of those game clips can start to eat up a lot of room. Here’s how to turn off game DVR on Xbox One.

All you need to do in order to turn off game DVR on your console is head to the Settings. From here, make your way to Preferences and within this menu, select the Broadcast and Capture option. Now, all you need to do is un-check the box that says “Allow broadcasts and game captures” below the Broadcast heading. This will prevent your Xbox One’s DVR from recording any further footage. If you ever want to enable game DVR again, make your way to the same menu as noted above, and then recheck the box to allow broadcasts and game captures.

That’s all you need to know to turn off game DVR. For more on the Xbox One, be sure to search for Twinfinite.
