WHAT THE FPS IS ON THE XBOX ONE X VERSION OF PUBG
Update: Following the release of PUBG on Xbox One and Xbox One X, a technical analysis of the game conducted by Eurogamer’s Digital Foundry has discovered it is currently only capable of a 27 fps average on Xbox One X, and 25 fps on Xbox One. The test notes that while barren areas of the map sometimes yield a consistent 30 fps, more taxing sequences can sometimes drop to as low as 15 on both systems. The lobby area and initial parachute stage of the game are especially poor.
Microsoft’s supercharged Xbox One X console released earlier this year, and PUBG is the first big exclusive titles that new owners can enjoy on their new system. Unfortunately, though, Xbox One X enhancements, such as 4k textures and HDR capability, won’t launch until a subsequent update. What’s more, Brendan “Player Unknown” Greene recently tweeted to confirm that all Xbox One versions of the game will run at 30 fps.
However, it is important to note that despite releasing on console, PUBG is still just as much in Early Access on the Xbox One as it is over on PC. That means there’s plenty of time for Greene and his team to improve performance before it’s official launch. Greene has previously stated that he has seen the game running at over 30 fps and the aim is to try and get the game as close to a smooth 60 fps as possible.
We’ll be sure to keep you updated on any performance improvements as and when they are announced. For now, that’s all the information we have on what PUBG’s fps is on Xbox One X. For more useful tips and guides on the game, be sure to check out our wiki page.
