Killing Floor 2’s Krampus Christmas Update Brings Fear to the Holidays

Beware the Krampus.

Killing Floor 2 is getting into the holiday spirit with developer Tripwire’s latest Krampus Christmas update. It’s a free patch for all players on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC that starts today and runs through Jan. 9.

There’s a brand new, horrific map called the Krampus Lair, which introduces a new boss — none other than the Abomination. You’ll find it in the Krampus Lair as well as in regular maps, just to keep the suspense high. You can attack the Krampus with two new weapons, including the Freeze Thrower and the UMP SMG. Previously, the Freeze Thrower was an Xbox One exclusive weapon, and now it’s up for grabs for everyone else.

A new limited-time event objective, new achievements, and special cosmetic rewards are up for grabs if you take the plunge. The cosmetic rewards are all taken from the same page: the holidays, with uniforms, weapon skins, emotes, and a whole host of other items with which you can outfit your character.

Killing Floor 2 is on sale for half off right now via Steam, so if you’re interested in playing, that’s a very nice price. It’s also up for free to play until Monday, Dec. 18.
