Changing Characters in Battle in Fire Emblem Warriors

Recommended Videos

Whenever you start a mission in Fire Emblem Warriors, the game allows you to take a few different characters with you into battle. If you don’t really feel like taking control of the two new protagonists introduced in this entry, you could always opt to control another hero instead.

To do this, simply press the up or down buttons on the d-pad to choose the next party member. However, do note that not all allies can be controlled. Characters highlighted with green icons on your map can be controlled, while the blue ones are non-playable. Their portraits must also be lit up on the battle screen, indicating that they’re available at your disposal. Your characters may all be deployed to different positions on the map, so if you ever need to address a pressing objective or pursue a side mission that’s on the other side of the area, you can always switch to another character who’s much closer to that waypoint instead of running all the way over there.

That’s all you need to know about switching between characters in battle. Be sure to check back with Twinfinite for more information on Fire Emblem Warriors.
