Square Enix’s latest announcement during the first presentation of Tokyo Game Show was a riveting one, introducing a new shooter by the name of Left Alive, which is currently scheduled for release on both PlayStation 4 and PC at some point next year.
During the presentation, Square Enix showed off an announcement teaser for the game, but there were scant details as far as much else. You can judge from the teaser and Square Enix’s words that it will be a “survival action shooter,” but there’s just not much to go on except the apocalyptic imagery seen throughout the trailer.
What we do know, however, is the fact that there are some talented folks working on the game as we speak. Yoji Shinkawa, for example, previously worked as a character designer on the Metal Gear series, and brought us some of the iconic imagery from Metal Gear like that you’ll see emblazoned across the Left Alive logo above. No, this isn’t a new Metal Gear, but it sure could be from the look of things. Toshifumi Nabeshima (Armored Core) and Takayuki Yanase (Xenoblade Chronicles X) have been tapped for the game as well.
There probably won’t be any additional details for a while, but this is definitely a game you’ll want to keep an eye on, especially if you’re into Shinkawa’s art, which is totally awesome.
