El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron Coming Soon to PC Via Steam; First Screenshots Released

Today PC gamers certainly have reasons to celebrate, but Sony’s blockbusters aren’t the only formerly console-only games coming to PC: enter El Shaddai.

Today we get the confirmation that the cult classic for PS3 and Xbox 360 El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron will come “soon” to PC via Steam

We also get the first screenshots within the press release. which you can see below. More information about the Steam release will come at a later date.

The press release included a brief introduction to the game.

“Developed by the hugely-talented, Tokyo-based team headed by the legendary Sawaki Takeyasu (“Devil May Cry”, “Steel Battalion”, “Okami”, “Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse”, “Infinite Space”, ”God Wars”, “The Lost Child”) , El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron is a combination of 2D and 3D platforming, with slick and energising combat. With its rich biblical tale and stunning graphics, players will need to harness natural combat skills to master a range of powerful and ‘heavenly’ weapons under the guidance of the watchful Archangels, in what is an unforgettable journey.”

We also get a comment from Takeyasu Sawaki himself.

“It has been 10 years since the release of El Shaddai on PS3 and Xbox 360 and we have been asked constantly by PC gamers and fans of the game for its release on this platform and we are glad to announce its release on Steam very soon!”

El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron was originally released for PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2011.
