A while ago, SEGA put up a teaser website, indicating that they were entering a collaboration and working on a new game. As revealed in the latest issue of Famitsu, courtesy of Gematsu, it looks like SEGA is developing a new mobile game titled Dx2 Shin Megami Tensei: Liberation. However, this isn’t the same SMT game we saw get announced for the Nintendo Switch earlier this year. Instead, it’s a new title being developed for smartphones and mobile devices.
‘The game, developed by Sega, features two conflicting organizations in the “Liberators” (which the protagonist belongs to) and “Acolytes.”’
There isn’t a whole lot of other information about the game just yet, but we expect more details to be revealed later this week when Famitsu gives us the full scoop.
At the moment, it’s also unclear whether the game will ever make its way to the west or get localized. Given the trend we see for most niche Japanese mobile games, it seems unlikely that Dx2 Shin Megami Tensei: Liberation will get an English version. We’ll keep you updated as more info comes our way.
