Borderlands is a franchise that is in danger losing fans due to a lack of innovation between titles, taking inspiration from PUBG would be a great way to see that happen. With the crazy amount of gun combinations, no match in a battle royale styled game would ever be the same, with loot boxes containing anything from a normal pistol to a gun that shoots other guns, all with different stats and perks attached to them as well. The developers at Gearbox could also make it lore-friendly by having the players duke it out in Mad Moxxi’s Underdome, which was prominently featured in a DLC expansion for the first game in the series.
