Can You Preload Splatoon 2?

Most modern video games these days offer a preload function where you can download the full game early so that it’ll be ready to go on launch day. If you’re looking to preload Splatoon 2, however, you might be in for a bit of disappointment.

So far, Nintendo hasn’t provided players with any sort of opportunity to download games early. As it stands, you can check out all of the upcoming Switch releases through the console’s eShop. However, there’s no way to pre-order these games through the eShop itself, and therefore, no way to pre-load the game before launch. While the company has allowed players to download the Globtal Testfires early in the past, they haven’t done the same for the full game.

The good news is that the game doesn’t have a particularly large download file size. Weighing in at only 3.2GB, most players should be able to download the game relatively quickly on launch day, as long as you have a stable internet connection.
