You can breathe fire now.

Becoming a Dragon in Dark Souls III

Yes, you can indeed become a dragon in Dark Souls III. But no, it’s not as awesome as it sounds. To transform into one of these great beasts, you’ll first need to access Irithyll Dungeon, which is the prison in the lower area of Irithyll itself. It’s where you fight Alva’s invader phantom. Continue through the dungeon until you reach the first lift, and you’ll find the Dragon Torso Stone. You need to remove all of your armor before you can use this item, and it’ll give you the body of a dragon. This item will boost your damage in both PVE and PVP, but you’ll be taking a big hit to your defense.

The Dragon Head Stone can be obtained after defeating the Ancient Wyvern in Archdragon Peaks. This item gives you the head of a dragon, and lets you breathe fire. Sounds awesome, but again, you’ll be taking a big hit to your defense as you can’t have any armor equipped. Fire breathing also expends stamina.

If you’re really into the dragon stuff, you can get an even more powerful Head Stone and Dragon Stone later on. In Archdragon Peaks, at the bonfire next to the Nameless King boss room, head up to the peak of the area that overlooks the scenery. Do the ‘Path of the Dragon’ gesture (which is obtained from the corpse in the area right before the Untended Graves) and you’ll receive the Twinkling Dragon Torso Stone.

As for the Twinkling Dragon Head Stone, you’ll need to retrieve the Twinkling Torso Stone first before talking to Andre back at Firelink Shrine. He’ll hand the item over, and this opens up the the optional Hawkwood fight at the Abyss Watchers bonfire area. Do note that Hawkwood will take all your Stones if you die to him, but you can get them back by defeating him.
