Square Enix has just released a brand new six-minute video showing off the gorgeous environments of Stormblood, the upcoming Final Fantasy XIV expansion. You can check out the video down below. Look away if you want to be pleasantly surprised by all the new areas when you play the game for the first time, though.
The video shows off various areas like Rhalgr’s Reach, the Ruby Sea, and the absolutely breathtaking hub city of Kugane. The continent of Ala Mhigo takes a lot cues and draws inspiration of Japanese and Asian culture in general, and it really shows in this video. There are also underwater environments that players can explore, which seems to be a first for the MMO.
Stormblood will bring about a slew of gameplay tweaks and improvements including increased inventory space, Job gauges, as well as a simplified combat system to make life easier for players in general.
Stormblood is set to be released for PC and PS4 on June 20, though you can get early access to the game by pre-ordering it.
