During the Pokemon Nintendo Direct today, it was revealed that Pokemon Gold and Silver are making their way to the 3DS virtual console.
In the wake of the first generation of pocket monster games seeing a release on Virtual Console for 3DS last year, the second generation will be available later this year. In its Pokemon devoted Nintendo Direct, the Pokemon Company announced that it will release Pokemon Gold and Pokemon Silver, originally released for the Game Boy (and Game Boy Color) on the 3DS Virtual Console.
Like the Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow Virtual Console releases, Gold and Silver will work with Pokemon Bank. As a result, players will be able to transfer their Gen-2 monsters to the recent games, including, presumably, the recently announced Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. Perfect for filling out that all-important National Pokedex. You can check out the reveal trailer for the titles below.
The 3DS Virtual Console releases of Gold and Silver will be released on September 22, 2017. Currently, Nintendo has not confirmed the pricing for the two titles when they release later this year.
