After almost 15 years of anticipation, Beyond Good and Evil 2 details and a beautiful CG trailer have been revealed at the Ubisoft E3 2017 press conference.
The game is not a direct sequel, instead, it is a prequel featuring a new cast of characters. Gone are the days of Jade, the intrepid photojournalist galavanting around with her animal companions. The game’s world seems much more mature, despite still being filled with talking pigs with mustaches and Monkey’s with mechanical grappling hands. The trailer ends with the crew escaping to a spaceship and blasting off into the stars.
Michel Ancel, creator of the original game then took the stage to thank the fans and Ubisoft for allowing the prequel to finally see the light of day. While we still don’t know a lot of specifics about the game, you can be sure there will be plenty of style and humor.
One big feature that was briefly outlined was the inclusion of seamless online play, allowing multiple players to share their adventures with one another.
No release date was given, but for those who simply can’t wait for more news on Beyond Good and Evil 2, an initiative called the Space Monkey Program is available now on the game’s website and is for those who want to “Be among the first to share in developing Beyond Good and Evil 2”.
