July 2017 PS4 Video Game Releases
July has never been known for being a month full of fanfare and huge game releases. It comes just after E3, an event where companies are focused on building hype for the holiday season and the upcoming year, and before the fall when major releases really start flexing their muscle. Out of all the video game “drought” months, the seventh month of the year has always suffered the worst. But, in recent years, developers have been working to fill all months with worthwhile experiences, and that’s continuing in July 2017 for the PS4.
In the coming weeks, the PS4 is set to receive over a dozen experiences ranging from party games, to indie strategy titles, to a remake of a huge RPG that includes features never before released in the west. Also, with Telltale loving to fill each month with some type of story goodness, we’re even getting the second season of Minecraft: Story Mode, the first episode at least.
Granted, there is a lot of indie content making up the bulk of July 2017’s offerings for PS4, but that’s nothing to frown at. Serial Cleaner is an interesting action title that has you cleaning up after killers and avoiding the law. Aven Colony lets you build your own civilization on a new world, and Pyre is the latest from the studio that brought the world Bastion and Transistor, so you can expect something deep to come out of that one.
All in all, there’s a nice variety on offer here for Sony’s current gen console. Now all that’s left to do is figure out which ones you want to pick up.
