The Surge: How to Sprint and Run Faster

And I ran, I ran so far away.

How to Sprint and Run Faster in The Surge

Recommended Videos

In The Surge, your character can move around pretty quickly on his own. However, you can speed him up a little by sprinting and dashing across the levels. To sprint and make him run faster, simply hold down the X button (or the A button, if you’re on Xbox One). The X button also serves as a dodge when you tap it, so make sure to hold it down if you just want to sprint.

Sprinting can come in pretty handy in a number of situations. For instance, you can sprint to run past enemies that you don’t want to fight, and if you’re far away enough, they’ll eventually stop chasing you. This allows you to clear levels much easily, but remember that you do need to defeat enemies to actually earn Tech Scrap and level up to increase your core power. Sprinting is also important when you’re facing off against bosses and need to evade their attacks. Sometimes, the dodge just isn’t enough, and you could find yourself rolling into an attack string just at the end of a dodge. A sprint might be able to help you evade these attacks more easily, but remember that it consumes stamina too.
