Tekken 7: How to Grab and Throw Enemies

How to Grab and Throw Opponents in Tekken 7

Recommended Videos

Tekken 7 has fighters that can really get all up in their opponent’s faces and throw the heck down. While there are some that specifically work like wrestlers, thus having special throws that they do, every character can do what’s known in the game as a “throw.” These are essentially grabs, and they can be very useful to mess up your opponent’s momentum if used correctly.

In order to execute a throw correctly, there are two different techniques at your disposal. Either press Triangle and Circle together, or Square and X together. If you’ve got it right, your character will attempt to grab their opponent. Be sure to be close to them, as it’s not a long-range attack. Also, keep in mind that you will be vulnerable during the moment that your fighter is reaching out to grab for the throw.

Let’s say you have some distance to the opposing fighter, though. In this scenario, you should run up to them and while running (right before being in your opponent’s face), hold the grab commands in order to perform a tackle on them.
