After giving fans a peek at the Runaways, Marvel is following up with a first look at Inhumans. Marvel’s Inhumans was originally slated for a film release but was instead turned into a television series. While Inhumans have been around in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since season 2 of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., its most popular members have yet to make an appearance: the Royal Family.
While Inhumans shown thus far in the MCU, like Daisy Johnson (Chloe Bennet) and Lincoln Campbell (Luke Mitchell) grew up believing they were normal before developing powers, the members of Marvel’s Inhumans have known since birth what they are. The series will center around the king of Inhumans, Black Bolt, played by Ansom Mount (Hell on Wheels). Marvel has released a first look image through Entertainment Weekly:(L-R: Eme Ikwuakor as Gorgon, Ken Leung as Karnak, Anson Mount as Black Bolt, Serinda Swan as Medusa, Isabelle Cornish as Crystal, Iwan Rheon as Maximus)
Those familiar with the Inhumans will notice that just like the Runaways’ reptilian friend was missing in their character poster, the Inhuman dog Lockjaw is nowhere to be found. However, the Marvel canine is confirmed to be in the show, created using CGI.
While Inhumans is confirmed to be a part of the MCU, it is unclear whether or not it will cross over with any of the other MCU properties. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. does normally kick its season off in September (if it’s picked up for a fifth season), so we’ll just have to wait and see.
Marvel’s Inhumans will debut on IMAX on Sept. 1 for a limited 2 week run before airing on ABC on Sept. 26.
