Nintendo Announces the New 2DS XL for the Price of $149.99

Long live the handhelds.

With the Nintendo Switch being as successful as it is, the idea that Nintendo would announce a new iteration of their handheld line is crazy. Lo and behold, the company has just introduced the New Nintendo 2DS XL – coming out July 28 at a suggested retail price of $149.99.

The sleek looking handheld features bigger screens, a c-stick, Amiibo functionality, and light blue colored design. Being part of the “New” 3DS/2DS line, the system also comes packing heat with faster processing power. This new iteration of the 2DS adds the ergonomic, folding design that the original lacked but still keeps the system child-friendly with 3D free visuals.

The New Nintendo 2DS XL launches July 28  and you’ll be able to play all of the upcoming titles like Fire Emblem Echoes, Hey! Pikmin, and Miitopia on the system in 2D.
