We all knew that Fox had plans for the X-Men franchise for 2018, and now Box Office has revealed that the studio has officially given solid release dates for the three films they plan to release. The most anticipated of these would be Deadpool 2, which once again stars Ryan Reynolds and recently found its Cable in Josh Brolin and has a release date of June 1. New Mutants is planned to release on Apr. 13, and will include Game of Thrones’ Maisie Williams as Wolfsbane. And finally, there’s X-Men: Dark Phoenix, which has a release date of Nov. 2. That’s a first for the series, which usually releases in the spring or summer time.
X-Men: Dark Phoenix will be the follow up film that takes place after last year’s Apocalypse. Supposedly, it’s going to be set in the 90’s as a throwback to the classic Fox Kids cartoon. Given the title, it’s clear that Jean Grey’s Phoenix persona will be making an appearance yet again, and will no doubt be causing trouble for the Children of the Atom. No other details about Dark Phoenix or New Mutants have been offered at this time.
