According to a report from the Wall Street Journal, Nintendo will be doubling production of their latest console, the Switch. The console was originally launched on March 3, and it was quickly sold out in retail stores. In fact, pre-orders were backed up by the end of the console’s first official livestream presentation. Unfortunately, much like the NES Classic, this meant that a lot of players were unable to get their hands on a Switch on launch day or even during that entire launch week.
To rectify this problem, Nintendo has informed the Wall Street Journal that they would ship a total of two million consoles globally each month, though the report also states that a persona familiar with the production said 2.5 million units was more likely. This was done to meet the overwhelming consumer demand Nintendo has met for the Switch – always a good sign for a brand new and innovative console.
The Nintendo Switch is now available for purchase, and we’ll keep you updated as more info comes our way.
