Developer Hello Games has today confirmed that the next No Man’s Sky update will bring a new vehicle to the game.
The Path Finder Update was announced via the No Man’s Sky official blog and is expected sometime this week. The new vehicle is the update’s primary feature. The blog states the vehicle “will aid home planet exploration, building on the Foundation Update to hint at a path ahead for the future.”
No images or other information regarding the vehicle or update were shared in the post, but full patch notes will be released when the update is released.
The Path Finder Update follows the Foundation Update, an update which made significant changes to No Man’s Sky, including the ability to build a planetary base and staff it with specialists. These specialists brought proper quests to the game, giving players objectives to complete and upgrades to earn. The update also introduced freighters that players could purchase. The Path Finder Update is expected to build on this new direction for No Man’s Sky.
Hello Games has been notoriously quiet following the backlash that ensued following the launch of No Man’s Sky, with the only communication from the developers being to announce updates and patches. Despite its problems, No Man’s Sky won the Innovation award at the recent Game Developers Choice Awards, however, no one from Hello Games attended to accept the award.
