NieR: Automata – Halfwit Inventor Side Mission

Recommended Videos

The Halfwit Inventor is one of the optional side missions you can tackle in NieR: Automata. The mission will only become available once you’ve cleared the Amusement Park and gain access to Pascal’s Village. Upon meeting the scientist machine, he will tell you that he needs some investors to give him money so that he can conduct proper research. To proceed to the next step of the Halfwit Inventor quest, you’ll have to give him 80,000 G.

After doing so, he’ll make a final request, and you’ll have to give him a one-time payment of 100,000 G to proceed in the Halfwit Inventor quest. This will allow him to launch a satellite. However, the scientist machine soon reveals that the project was a failure, and his beacon landed on Mars instead. He can’t give you back your money, but he will become a new vendor that you can buy materials from. He sells the Alien Mask, which is an accessory you can equip. He also sells upgrade materials like Meteorite and Meteorite Shards, which you’ll need if you want to fully upgrade all of your weapons.
