Entertainment Weekly has scored the first image of Season 2 of Netflix’s Stranger Things (above), in which the show’s creators make no attempt to mask their love for ’80s pop culture. In the image, you can see Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo), Mike (Finn Wolfhard), and Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin) dressed as characters from 1984’s Ghostbusters.
The second season, which will air later this year on Netflix, will be set in that same year. Within the show’s fiction, that’s one year after the events of last summer’s first season.
Though we don’t know much about season two, Executive Producer Shawn Levy gave Entertainment Weekly this cryptic teaser: “The Demogorgon was destroyed, but evil wasn’t.”
The image with the boys dressed in their ‘busting best is pulled from a commercial spot for Stranger Things’ second season that will air during Super Bowl LI between the New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons. The Super Bowl takes place this Sunday at 6:30 p.m. on Fox.
